Roasted Chick Peas

So this has to be one of the simplest recipes of all time.  It’s a perfect addition to a nibbles plate, a gap filler in between meals and a lower fat snack than chips or nuts for game time TV  watching or bubbles sipping.  The original recipe and a few topping ideas are here for you to mix up and get creative.

You’ll Need:  2 x Can Chick Peas, 2 Tablespoons Oil and flavouring of your choice.

All you have to do is roast the chickpeas in the oven for 45-60 mins at 180º make sure they are well rinsed then drain and dry with a paper towel so all excess water is gone.  This is important to make them deliciously crunchy (insert a Nigella Lawson voice).  You don’t have to use any oil.
Once you’ve got them crunchy while they are still hot drizzle with oil and sprinkle over with your favourite spice mix or coating.  We used 1/2 tsp cumin, 1/2 tsp chilli flakes, 1/2 tsp salt, and a teaspoon of Zaatar spice because we’re a little obsessed with it at the moment.
